At Nicholas House, families are what we do. Find information about eligibility and alternative sources of help here.
I don’t have any children, but I need a place to stay tonight. Can I stay at Nicholas House?
No. Nicholas House provides housing for homeless families consisting of at minimum one parent or guardian and one child. Our residents stay with us for an extended period of time while participating in our programs. We do not provide walk-in emergency shelter and we do not have a wait list.
How can I get into your program?
To qualify for our program, you must be homeless, have custody of your child(ren) and be located in the City of Atlanta, DeKalb County or Fulton County. Access to all Nicholas House programs is through a community-wide coordinated entry system to ensure that you are matched with the services that best meet your needs in the fastest way possible.
If you are homeless and seeking services, please contact the following Coordinated Entry Access Points based on your location. The Coordinated Entry Access Point will then conduct an assessment and refer you to the appropriate program or service as openings become available.
A two-page printable document with information about coordinated entry resources is available here.

Emergency housing programs give homeless seniors a safe place to stay and help with transitioning to other housing options, making them a valuable resource.
